TERRITORY
Casentino. Situated in the upper Arno valley, by right one of the greener Tuscan valley, Casentino is centrally positioned for sightseeing in Falterona Mountain, Pratomagno and Alpe di Catenaia; its ends are marked by the cities of Arezzo, Firenze and Forlė.
Casentino valley is the very greenest oasis of the Tuscan Apennines: it keeps its ancient charm and luxuriant nature thanks to lawns in flower, century old villages and thick woods.
To fully appreciate the Casentino valley one must try its typical products - honey, castagne, pecorino cheese, fir's "melata" - very famous is the traditional Casentino wool cloth; Giotto's precious works, Della Robbia's terracottas together with traces of Barocco art are clearly expressed by churches and Hermitages.

Porciano Castle in Stia village,
Romena Castle in Pratovecchio Village, where Dante stayed for a while, clearly express the fusion between art and history. The guest can take advantage of breath-taking nature excursions in the National Park; lots of paths and brooks can be easily found walking throw century-old forests of fir, beech and chestnut, natural habitat for different species of animals like stags, deer and eagles.
